How fragile is your contentment? How much of your life—or how little—would have to change for you to plunge into frustrated, joyless discontent?
Sadly, for many of us it wouldn’t take much. Too often in this world our contentment is based on things going according to our plans and working out for our purposes.
But Christians can and should have a different perspective—rather than being content in the success of our plans, we need to find contentment in God’s sovereign, providential control. We need to remember that even when things don’t go our way, God is still on His throne, orchestrating events for His glory and our good.
In this short clip from his sermon titled “An Expression of Pastoral Gratitude,” John MacArthur powerfully illustrates that point with details from the life of Paul.
Later this week, Cameron will delve deeper into the relationship between contentment and God’s providence in the life of the believer.
For now, we want to hear from you. How have you learned to be content in God’s providential provision? And how does His sovereignty comfort you when circumstances aren’t going your way?
As you may be aware, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into full effect on 25th May 2018. GDPR is the new European privacy regulation, which will replace the Data Protection Act 1998 in the UK and the equivalent legislation across the EU Member States.
Here at Grace to You Europe we take our data protection responsibilities very seriously and, as you would expect, have undertaken a significant programme of work to ensure that we are ready for this important legislative change.
Accordingly, we have updated our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions in order to comply with GDPR.
